Slanted Door ??

Hello all,

I%26#39;ve currently got 7:45pm reservations at the Slanted Door for a party of 8 in celebration of an upcoming birthday. I%26#39;m getting a bit nervous. The reviews seem very mixed! Anyone been there lately? We%26#39;re going on a Thursday night.

Haven%26#39;t been there, but my daughter and friend were there for her birthday on Dec. 9 and she loved it. Please report back, if you eat there, so that i will have TWO reviews %26lt;grin.

Most here say it is wonderful...after I read the reviews on Sanfrancisco.citysearch.com I wondered why??

I have always enjoyed it when I%26#39;ve been there. It gets loud, but that isn%26#39;t something that bothers me. I have always had good experiences there. I know other people have experienced poor service, but I have been fortunate enough not to.

An update.

We had a marvelous night at the Slanted Door. Exceeded my expectations. Our table was ready when we arrived - the service was good and our group of 8 sat at a large round table which made it possible to talk to each other - even thought the restaurant is very loud.

The food - it was outstanding and like many of the reviews in Tripadvisor, the spring rolls and shaking beef were fab.

Other highlights of our trip - waking from Coit Tower to Union Square, the SF Museum of Modern Art, Beach Blanket Babylon, the cable cars and stumbling on various small restaurants and deli%26#39;s

that had great food and an authentic atmosphere.
