We have 5 hours to kill before we are supposed to meet someone for a late lunch at 3 p.m. on a Saturday.
What should we do for 5 hours? Does anyone have a of where to have lunch. By the water would be nice, good food with a relaxed atmosphere would be great!
Thanks!
5 hours in San Diego and nice late lunch recommendations
What part of town? For five hours, I would recommend the Old Town Trolley (bus) tour - it lasts only a couple hours, but takes you to all kinds of great locations - Old Town, Balboa Park, downtown, Coronado - and you can get off at various locations, then explore more and get on again.
For lunch, Fish Market right on the water downtown is great - fun atmosphere, very casual. If you have a car, then Point Loma Seafood near Shelter Island is also great. There are many others, that%26#39;s one of my favorites, but if you have a specific type of food in mind, let us know and we can give you more ideas.

You may want to consider the Sheerwater Restaurant at the Hotel Del Coronado if you do decide to go to Coronado. It%26#39;s a lovely are of San Diego, the drive over the bridge is scenic and the town is quaint and charming. We dined outside at the Sheerwater the first week of Dec and enjoy our lunch very much. I have a review of our meal with some photos if you%26#39;re interested.
After lunch you could explore the Del, there are shops there and nice little museum store where you can read about the history of the hotel. Also in Coronado is a Historical Museum that is free of charge that we enjoyed. Of course, donations are accepted after visiting the museum.
In La Jolla, we enjoyed a nice snack before dinner at the Crab Catcher, you will have views of the water here and the clam chowder is very good. Enjoy your trip! :)
