I spent the past week-end (January 11-14, 2007) dancing in Monterey. I was told that, one night, it got down to 17°F. When I left to come home at 2.1 the Fifteenth, it was 32°F, 23°F just past Prunedale and 39°F at my home, 1.8 hours later.
Last night, when I took the garbage out, all of the cars%26#39; metal and glass was covered with a thick coat, perhaps 1/64';, of ice! There was no ice on the street or sidewalk.
When a child in Eureka Valley, walking to McKinley one morning, I crossed a steep street on an angle. There was some unseen ice. Landed flat on m%26#39;back; the wind was knockt outta me. Even though gasping for air, I realized that a car turning onto that street could not have seen me so rolled under a parked one %26#39;til I recovered.
