Have looked at some hotels for our honeymoon, and have narrowed it down lots! Like the look of Vitale (thanks for the tip Saks and Drummerliz!) but looking at it the price is over our budget. So now I have checked out Hotel Drisco and it looks very nice. However, am concerned about the location. This is our first trip to San Francisco and it%26#39;s recommended to stay at Union Square for first-timers.
My questions:
Is Drisco to far away from the ';action'; to get the San Franciscan experience?
Are there bus-stops near the hotel?
How much for a taxi to Union Square?

Why let a recommendation from cyber space be the deciding factor? Only you know yourself. You can still get around if you stay in Pacific Heights. Read the reviews...they always mention things like transportation...does the hotel offer shuttle service to Union Square...thought I%26#39;ve seen that. Do you have a SF map to see where it is located? Pacific Heights is also close to Fillmore and Union Streets for less touristy restaurants, and shopping. It will be a hilly neighborhood, but lovely.

If you want to be near Union Square, there are many places closer than the Drisco. Check out the Serrano. Good rates and jaccuzi tubs in some rooms. The Monaco is another choice.
More B%26amp;B like is the White Swan. No jaccuzi tubs, but fire places in the rooms.
TripAdvisor now has a sorting method by romantic rating in the hotel listings.
The Drisco is pretty out of the way. If it%26#39;s your first stay, I probably wouldn%26#39;t recommend staying there. If you plan to be out and about at night, that is when transportation may be a problem around the Drisco if you aren%26#39;t firmiliar with what you%26#39;re doing.
The positives about the Drisco is that you very much get a taste of a real SF neighborhood. It is a nice hotel and you really should be happy there.
The Monaco is one with a more central location that you may wish to look into.
Others:
Campton Place (though this may be out of your price range...)
The White Swan Inn (more of a B%26amp;B)
The Orchard
