Thanks for the info regarding Disneylands schedule, but that still does not tell me WHEN Spring Break is for the local schools in the Anaheim area. Does anybody know the answer to this??
Thanks,
MJ
Spring Break in Anaheim
There are HUNDREDS of different school districts within a one day drive of Disneyland, and it seems that each school district has changed and modified its schedules.
Many College and Universities in the area are getting a week in March off, many Kindergarden thru 12th grade students will have either the 1st or 2nd week of April off, but some of these districts are switching to taking a week in March off. Then many Southern California schools have year-round schedules, which will give many kids either the month of March or April off.
So there is no real answer, except that Disney expects LARGE crowds from March 9th thru April 15th, with the last 2 weeks being a bit busier than the first 3.

For example, there are EIGHT different school districts that serve just the City of Anaheim.

And even if EVERY school in Anaheim had the same week off, it wouldn%26#39;t have a big impact as compared to the LA Unified School District getting a week off at a different time.
I wish there was an easy way to predict, and so does Disney.
I am a frequent visitor (I go at least twice a week to cover construction progress) and know many folks at the Management level who work for Disney (or other theme parks). I caught a major mistake they made in their January 2006 schedule. But I found the mistake after they booked a major party after hours, which caused an 8 PM close on a very busy weekday, where they would have kept the park open until 11 PM or Midnight. They failed to catch the fact the Rose Bowl was moved to a later date due to the National Championship, and the fact that many school districts have added the first week of January off to prevent unexcused absences They did add extra hours for the rest of the week, but they signed a contract to close at 8 PM the one day, which cost Disney a lot of extra revenue that day.
Thank you very much for the descriptive reply. That was very helpful. Being from Canada, I really didn%26#39;t know how the system worked down there. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it.
Cheers,
MJ
Darkbeer - will the crowds be significantly lighter the third week in April? Disney has reduced the hours that week but I%26#39;m not convinced. We can go either the 12th or 13th or anytime the following week - 16th through the 20th. What do you think will result in the least amount of waiting in line?
Thanks so much for all of your great input!
