Hi, we%26#39;re planning on going to the Walk of Fame in Hollywood on February 7th before we check into our hotel near LAX. However I checked their website and it looks like there will be a movie premiere happening that evening at Grauman%26#39;s Chinese Theater which we also wanted to see. We will probably get there around 3-4pm as we are driving from Las Vegas.
Does anyone know how they handle these premieres? Like do they close off certain areas or whatnot?
Thanks!
Walk of Fame / Grauman's Chinese Theater premiere
Yes, they do close off part of all of the block in front of the theatre. There are police barricades and you can not walk on the sidewalk in front of the theatre.
Walk of Fame / Grauman's Chinese Theater premiere
At 3pm you might still be able to walk around the theatre sidewalk and see the footprints, and you can definitely see lots of the ';walk of fame'; that is not right there at the theatre entrance. At premiere time, there are usually tons of people herded across the street from the theatre to watch the festivities, but the view is not very good, you%26#39;ll need a good zoom on your cameras.
Also kind of depends on how the movie is. For Star Wars, they closed down the whole street, and there were thousands of people. Most premieres are much smaller, with only a hundred or so people. So what%26#39;s the movie?
looks like a movie starring hugh grant, who i didn%26#39;t even know was still alive. highly unlikely they%26#39;ll close down the street for this one.
the others are right, you%26#39;ll pretty much be relegated to watching from across the street, with traffic getting in the way.
Of course if its Hugh Grant then the Brit tourists will all be there.
Also maybe the hookers as well!!
