Where to stay for a month or 2 in San Francisco

Visited SF last year for 6 days and loved our time there. We would like to stay for longer this summer. We stayed near Broadway and Polk last time and would like to be in that sort of area.

We don%26#39;t know how to find an apartment rental that won%26#39;t cost the earth.

We need a bit more space than just a hotel room.

Does anyone know how best to do this?

I agree with the suggestion of craigslist. If you find something that you think you like and want information on it%26#39;s exact location and surrounding areas, feel free to post with questions.

Do we need to look at %26#39;sublets and temporary%26#39; or just %26#39;vacation%26#39;?

They don%26#39;t always say with the sublets how long they are for and the ones that do have said 6 months or so...

Also, do some googlng. You will be directed to agencies which do vacation rentals in the city. And vrbo.com (vacation rental by owner), is said to be good. I will check the list I got from googling and see if anything might work for you, and come back.
