WELL IM back with another question hahahaa .. I know I know...
Whats your thoughts on AUTO and VACATION insurance.. This is for our DISNEY trip march 14-27 with air fare and hotel.. comes to about an extra 225.00
WHATS you thoughs on VACATION and rental car insurance
Auto insurance should be covered by your own auto, homeowners policies an dyou rcredit card. Read the fine print and/or check with your insurance agent. The only time we buy trip insurance is for a cruise or a trip out of the country because of medical evacuation etc.
WHATS you thoughs on VACATION and rental car insurance
Have to give a major heads up on not buying rental car insurance if covered at home or on credit card. Most people don%26#39;t know this but -some major car rental companies will hold hostage to the available balance on your credit card - could be $10,000 and put an attachment or freeze on your credit limit to help pay for a new car if you default. You can%26#39;t prove your insurance covers you. Then you can%26#39;t use your card for hotel, meals, etc.
I learned this the hard way when I tried to check in to my hotel and my card was rejected. The clerk asked if I just rented a car and not bought their insurance. I said ';yes'; and he explained. So I had to rely on my traveling companion to put the hotels on her card. It is wise to carry a second credit card with you and use one just for rental cars.
I wouldn%26#39;t worry about trip evacuation - Anaheim is close to hospitals, etc. Check the refundability on your tour package in case of illness and what your comfort area is in tewrms of losing all the money you paid out if its non-refundable.
Read the fine print, we ended up not taking the insurance with our Disney package because it said something about airfare not being covered.
Actually I think we ended up booking our airfare separately. Because we had to hurry to lock in our room deal, but wanted to wait for the airfares to come down, which they did a couple of weeks later.
Then, with Disney, we just booked the room %26amp; tickets package. This was cancellable with a small fee up until about 14 days before travel I think, so it didn%26#39;t make sense to buy the $200 insurance.
when you rent, note any dings and scuffs before you start up the car. Look below the front bumper and check if any lens are cracked, also look at the windshield, any chips or ';spiders';, have it noted.
Actually, if you have a digital camera, take picture of the car from all angles and look at the tires, and check the windshield for nicks, etc. etc.
I have checked with my car insurance agant , and he said IM covered with my insurance,,,
The Van will be parked most of the time.
THanx for the heads up on the credit card thing..... THANX for all your help!!!
