Fun restaurants in San Diego

Hi, Helpful People! Headed to San Diego 5-19-07 for 6 days. We have tickets for two nite games at PETCO but need some lunch and dinner suggestions. We%26#39;re not familiar with the area at all and just want some fun, different places. Maybe one nicer place for dinner and ideas for good lunches. Outdoor venues are good and we love seafood. Also a recommend for a daytime activity? Hubby and I are in our 50%26#39;s and really want to sightsee and relax. We will have a car. Thanks for any suggestions!

If the weather is nice and you need a late afternoon snack head to C-Level / Island Prime on Shelter Island (near the airport). Great food, great deck on the harbor with a drop dead view of San Diego.

The patio of Prado restaurant in Balboa Park. Great food, great location.

Ortegas Bistro for Mexican in Mission Hills -- no outside dining.

I am wondering where you are staying? You will be here 6 days and you only need 1 daytime activity?I fyou want an organized tour then the hop on hopoff trolley tour(bus that looks like an old trolley)is best.

You could spend one day at Balboa Park visiting the many museums, gardens, and lovely canyons. A wondeful area for a stroll, or for culture - there are usually several special activities going on there on the weekends. A lovely place just to relax and unwind - one of the best restaurants in the county - the Prado is right in Balboa Park, and you would love the festive atmosphere and lovely patio. www.balboapark.org

You could spend quite a bit of time on Coronado - you can take the ferry from downtown or drive over the bridge. It%26#39;s a beautiful, relaxed small city with a wonderful beach. Orange Avenue is fun for walking, and I love touring the grand Hotel Del Coronado, and looking at the mansions across the street from the Ocean on Ocean Blvd.

Right now, the Jacaranda trees on Ash Avenue are starting to bloom, and it%26#39;s so beautiful - like a purple boulevard. That%26#39;s right downtown and there%26#39;s lots to do and see right there, including the USS Midway - here%26#39;s a walking tour that I happened to run across - it hits all the high points of the area and seems well organized:
