We will be arriving at SFO at 17.35hrs on 29th June and would like to know how to get to the York Hotel in Sutter Street?
Would it be o.k using public transport? or is better to get a taxi/shuttle?
(There will be 4adults plus luggage)
Transport AdviceBecause there are four of you, it would probably be worth the $50 or so for a taxi BUT you can
board a [San Francisco] Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train at The Airport. Fare is less than $6 each. Get off at Powell Street. If you%26#39;re at Fifth Street, turn Left about 50 metres to a taxi stand or cross the tracks (under or on ground), turn Left to the hotel on Cyril Magnin to take a taxi for a few blocks, turning Left on Ellis, Right on Taylor, and Left on Sutter. It should be about five bux.
Unless you leave town, you will have no further use for BART.
Transport AdviceI%26#39;m with Swingcha. Get a van taxi at the airport and load all of you and your luggage into it. The hotel is just far enough away from the BART station (public transit) to make it pretty inconvenient. You%26#39;d drag your luggage to BART up and down escalators, buy your tickets, get on BART, get off at Powell street, then drag your luggage up the escalator or elevator (hope that one or the other are working), then either walk several blocks, some of it uphill) or hail a cab once you are street side. With all that hauling around of luggage, you might as well cab it. Easier, more comfortable, more direct, and really, with four people, worth the money.
Thankyou both for your advice, will definitely be getting the taxi van.
