I%26#39;m hoping to visit the West coast later in the year and want to book my flights.
We want to visit LA, Las Vegas and San Francisco and will hire a car, but we%26#39;re not sure which order to go in?
please help!
Which way round shall i go?
IMHO it doesn%26#39;t matter much, I%26#39;d go with the cheapest flights and cheapest place to hire your rental car. If you can go to Las Vegas on a weekday, you can get great hotel rooms for cheap!
Which way round shall i go?How long is your trip? And what time of year? Do you want to drive the coastal route? Or do you want to drive LA-LV-SF without visiting the Cal coast. How many people on this trip? Adults? Kids? Do you like amusement parks or do you only want to visit NP%26#39;s???
Some more questions:
1. Will you be arriving at and departing from the same U.S. airport or would you consider, say, arriving in San Francisco and returning from Las Vegas.
2. Have you considered flying during part of your trip? Southwest Airlines (southwest.com) -- the RyanAir of the U.S. -- is offering seats as cheap as $39 between SF and LV, and LA (for travel on Tues %26amp; Wed. You must book the tickets by 17 May.
How late? If its between now and October, the question is do you also want to see Yosemite. If so, the best route is either San Francisco through Yosemite to Las Vegas to Los Angeles (or vice versa....Los Angeles to Las Vegas to Yosemite to San Francisco.)
You can do this between now and October as Tioga Pass is open.
However if you%26#39;re coming November - May of next year, I%26#39;d suggest starting in San Francisco, drive to Los Angeles and then drive to/from Las Vegas. Other option is to fly to Las Vegas and back on Southwest Airlines from Burbank Airport.
The difference is that Tioga Pass due to high elevations and snow will close.
