Hotel near the palace of fine arts

Hi everyone. A friend of mine will be staying in San Francisco for a graduation ceremony that is being held at the Palace of Fine arts. I am not very familair with the surronding areas. Can anyone recommend a hotel that isn%26#39;t too far away?

There are a good number of hotels on Lombard St. The Buena Vista Inn gets good reviews. I stayed there over 10 years ago when I was still just a tourist. Nothing fancy (none of the hotels on Lombard are) but clean and comfortable.

Is the Drisco really near the Palace of Fine Arts? Only marginally, I think. Whatever. I would suggest some of the motor inns on the Lombard strip....Coventry, etc. which belongs to a group. Google it or get a No. Calif. Tour Guide.

There are not any ';hotels'; in that area, only motor inns. And the ones on Lombard are very close.
