Bars

My husband and I are either going to San Diego this fall (depending on our timeshare company) or returning to Toronto, Canada. So I am trying to plan for both options.

Can anyone recommend good rock bars in San Diego? We like classic rock like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Lynard Skynard. Which ones have live bands? We also love the blues so any good blues clubs recommendations would also be appreciated. Thanks!

I%26#39;m not much of a bar person myself, but there are many great bars in the Gaslamp Quarter downtown - this site has information on all the bars, and the atmosphere each - I%26#39;m sure other people will have more specific recommendations for you.

You can also check out www.sdreader.com for who is playing where,what concerts are around,restaurants,etc. You can even listen to some music to see if it is something you would like. This is a free paper that comes out every Thurs. There is also sandiego ctiy beat which comes out onWed.

I would also check out 4th and B (a performance space) they have a crowded calendar, usually focus on rock and are downtown. Also consider a dive bar just north of downtown in the mditown district -- 1st and Juniper next to Hob Nob Restaurant -- called Cherry Bomb.
