Can anyone give me an timeshare exit report?

I was in San Francisco two weeks ago and was solicited six

or seven times regarding time timeshares. The salespeople

would come up and tell me, my wife or two daughters they

would get $70.00 at Macys or a whatever to attend a 90 minute presentation. Just curious if anyone have taken the salespeople

up on their offer? Can you provide details? I must look very vulnerable, these guy would not leave us alone. (Now i Know how a very gorgeous woman feels with all the uninvited attention)

Years ago I attended a timeshare presentation in Hawaii

and I did receive a free dinner on a cruise ship, I of course

refused to buy into their timeshare properties. In that case

I felt it was worth it and was happy that I sat throught the presentation.

Mike, my last trip to San Francisco was courtesy of a timeshare company... they put us up at the Hilton and gave us some vouchers for car rental (and other stuff I can%26#39;t remember.) In exchange, we sat through the presentation, no obligation to buy. They are extremely insistent. You have to be able to say no. These are the same folks that hang out on Jefferson Street, next door to the McDonalds.

I went to the same company%26#39;s talk when my son and I were at Disneyland last year. We got a fistful of Disney dollars for 90 minutes of our time, and I brought back gifts for everybody that I couldn%26#39;t have afforded otherwise.

LOL about the unwanted attention... they seem to have a profile that they jump on, folks of ';a certain age.'; I didn%26#39;t see anybody in their 20s with tats and piercings being solicited or attending the talk, though if they asked and could prove their qualifications, I%26#39;m sure they could.

So yes, if you can spare 90 minutes or so and if you don%26#39;t feel bad about saying no and taking their goodies anyway, it%26#39;s worth it.

I guess it depends on whether $70 at Macy%26#39;s is worth 90 minutes of your time. I sat through one in Palm Desert for a $50 American Express giftcard that expired a month later and wasn%26#39;t good at the places I wanted to use them. On the other hand, my 89-year-old father breezed through in about ten minutes once they figured out he couldn%26#39;t hear worth a darn! He spent his $50 giftcard at Target and was a happy camper.
