feedback on flying out from monterey airport or san jose

have to get to vegas in july on monday night in july. costs 230 pp to fly via san fran, or get the monterey airbus to san jose for 30 pp and only $85 to fly from there. so are there good views from monterey airport as u take off or is the traffice a nightmare to get to san jose and risk missing a flight. thanks for any guidance.

U.S. Airways used to have direct flights from Monterey to Vegas, but I don%26#39;t know if they still do. The views as you leave Monterey are nice, but not nice enough to warrant a high airfare, in my opinion. I think I%26#39;d opt for the airbus to San Jose. You%26#39;ll have many choices for flights from San Jose to Vegas, (Southwest Airlines is the best) The drive from Monterey to San Jose is about an hour and a quarter, and the airbus is amazingly on-time. I%26#39;m sure they take the San Jose traffic into account. Just plan to give youself some extra time to be on the safe side.

Aussie, just got back from Vegas.

I usually drive to San Jose, park at the Park, shuttle, fly then get shuttled over to the airport for a non stop flight to Vegas.

I%26#39;ve also done the Monterey Airbus to San Jose Airport, and they were really efficient. Like PG said, they were right on time. This is probably you best option. Airbus uses the commuter lane up to the airport to get there faster during commute times. And if you book US Airways, it%26#39;s in the older terminal away from AA and Southwest, where the crowds are less, and the security lines are shorter and faster!

Non stop is hard to find from Monterey to Vegas, but occasionally you can. The last I found was US Airways on a Friday, but you%26#39;d leave around 8 PM and arrive at 9:45 PM. Add the cost of an extra nights room and the cost is not even close to being worth it.
