We would like to find a B%26amp;B in Berkeley or north to Albany for June 2-5th. Would prefer one with few stairs. Or reasonable, clean, moderately priced hotel. Two people share a bed.

Altho%26#39; I have yet to stay in Berkeley, I did a fair amount of research looking for a nice inn or hotel with character and one that was close to the UCB campus. I found the Rose Garden Inn (www.rosegardeninn.com) loc%26#39;d on Telegraph Ave. It%26#39;s more of a small hotel than a true B%26amp;B, with a total of 40 rm%26#39;s in the 2 historic mansions and cottages. You can inquire as to availability of lodging on the ground floor if stairs are a concern. They do offer B%26amp;B amenities like a full breakfast and evening snacks. The buildings look charming and the gardens beautiful. The decor is pretty ';frilly Victorian';--so that may not be to your taste.

Forestvillian: Thank you for an enticing suggestion for a B%26amp; B. Reppe
There aren%26#39;t too many choices besides the Rose Garden; you can look at this site for more info:

Will you have a car? There are also a number of hotels in the Emeryville/Berkeley Marina area that are very convenient: The Doubletree Berkeley Marina, the Courtyard by Marriott (which apparently has taken bids on Priceline at around $60 a night), the Hilton Garden Inn and 4 Points Sheraton. Those last 3 are in Emeryville, very well located.
