Hi all! This is my first time taking kids on vacation, via an airplane! It should be exciting, that%26#39;s for sure. My question is for those that have taken their strollers on the plane. Is there an extra charge, due to the size? Ours is a standard, one seat, Cosco brand stroller (with storage underneath, cupholders, standard stuff). Once folded up, it looks a lot bigger than a suitcase. I%26#39;m wondering if I should leave it behind and bring the umbrella stroller (which is not nearly as comfortable). Any thoughts from those that have done this before? Thanks for your help! We%26#39;ll be in Disney next week!! WHOOP!!!!

Bulky Strollers on Airplane
Take the stroller with the kid in it right to the gate. When you board tell the gate agent you want to gate check it. They will give you a ticket and tell you to park it right before getting on the plane. When you get off the plane at the end of the flight the stroller will be there waiting for you. No extra charge and a wonderful service!

Actually, if possible, let the gate agent know before boarding begins. He/She can give you a tag for your stroller and let you know where to park it, this should should save you some time (and dirty looks) at boarding.
Oh, thanks for your help! This is great ~ one less thing to worry about :)
We just got back from DIsneyland and brought our big, bulky stroller (you know the travel system kind with the infant seat, although we no longer use the infant seat portion). It was great to push our son around in the airport and we took it right up to the gate at boarding time, as suggested above. I was worried about taking such a big stroller, but I was soooo glad we did! It was great to have the big basket, cup holders, trays, etc. throughout the day at Disneyland. An umbrella stroller just wouldn%26#39;t have been nearly as convenient, let alone comfortable. You%26#39;ll be glad you have it!!! Have fun!
