Flying into Long Beach

I%26#39;m coming to LA next Friday and will be there till Tuesday (18th-22nd). The main purpose of this trip is to go to The Price is Right - can%26#39;t wait!

When I was looking into flights, it was about $100 cheaper to fly into Long Beach - was this a mistake? From what I%26#39;m reading about traffic, it seems it may take hours to get to our hotel even though mapquest is saying it should only be about 40 minutes. We%26#39;re staying right across from CBS studios at the Beverly Inn.

I guess it doesn%26#39;t matter if it was a mistake at this point since the flight is already booked, but if anyone has any advice as far as driving from point A to point B it would be greatly appreciated!! We do have a rent a car by the way - it was super cheap!!

Thanks! :)

It will take about 40 minutes to one hour, as long as you aren%26#39;t driving at the peak of rush hour. Long Beach is a great airport, I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll regret your decision.

I agree with the previous poster. You don%26#39;t need to worry about the drive from the airport. But, I would consider a different hotel. Here are the reviews of your hotel by travelers who have stayed there previously:

$70 is REALLY CHEAP for LOS ANGELES so if you%26#39;re willing to ';rough it'; a little, then stay where you are. (The hotel is ranked #142 out of all of the 169 hotels in the city that were rated).

Otherwise, there is another hotel just as close to TPIR called the Farmer%26#39;s Daughter (ranked #22 in the city. The hotel will cost about twice as much as the Beverly Inn -- and it is only a 2-1/2 star property!

If you need a hotel closer to $100 per night (10-15 minutes away), just say so and I%26#39;ll post some options for you.

Thanks for the suggestions!

We%26#39;re on a tight budget and it%26#39;s been suggested that we stay across the street from the studios. We won%26#39;t be spending very much time in the hotel - I know it%26#39;s not the greatest but we%26#39;d rather be able to spend the cash doing stuff around town than spend that much more on a room that we%26#39;ll only be in to sleep.

As far as the airport, we%26#39;ll be flying in mid morning so it sounds like we should be okay - a little traffic is fine by me especially living in Chicago! :)

Thanks!

Actually I do have one question :) Do you think the Bevonshire Lodge would be the same situation or maybe a little better? Something in my gut right now is telling me to go with that one....especially after reading over the reviews for the Beverly Inn again...lol...

You will still hit some traffic at that time of day, but you would hit traffic from LAX too. Try to use the carpool lane as much as you can. If yo take the 105 to the 110, you will have use of the carpool lane on both of those freeways.

Have fun at TPIR. This is his last season.

Yes! Here are the reviews:
