Camarillo Premium Outlets are about an hour northwest of downtown Los Angeles. 120 stores. Here is their website:

There is a small outlet mall east of downtown (about 20 minutes) called the Citadel. Info here:

Oops! I gave you the incorrect website for the Citadel. The correct one is:
http://www.citadeloutlets.com/
Thanks.
How is the parking situation like for the garment market in LA?
Can I catch a bus or train to the market from USC vicinity?
From the website, I like the Camarillo place. Is there a place near there to stay.
How about the Ontario place?
Thanks

The Camarillo Outlets are very nice. You can take Amtrak or Metrolink from downtown to Camarillo and it is a short cab ride if you don%26#39;t want to drive.
If you drive: Camarillo Premium Outlets is located just 45 minutes (without traffic) North of Los Angeles - take Highway 101 to Camarillo, exit Las Posas Road.
Places to stay nearby (From their website)
Country Inn %26amp; Suites, Camarillo
Ask for the Shop %26amp; Stay package. (805) 983-7171
Courtyard Marriott, Camarillo
Ask about the Shop %26amp; Stay packages. (805) 388-1020
Holiday Inn Express, Camarillo
Ask for the Shop %26amp; Stay Smart package. (805) 485-3999
A bit further away but nicer hotel, the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Hotel %26amp; Resort, Oxnard
Shop %26amp; Stay package available which includes a $50 shopping spree. (805) 984-2500
Meant to add if you decide to drive - a nicer route (not much longer) would be to take the 10 freeway West to the ocean, take the coast highway up to Camarillo and cut across on Los Posas. There are nice ocean views and then you get to drive through all the strawberry fields.
Thanks Juxie for the very useful information.
I would try to travel the ocean route that you suggested.
Are there strawberries during June? Would like to stop by and buy some.
How far is Camarillo from Los Angeles Airport? We are considering driving directly to the airport to catch our evening flight ( 7.30pm) on a Wednesday evening.(13 June) How much time should we give ourselves to get to the airport?
Besides the mall, what other fun things we can do within a days at Camarillo?
Thanks
Strawberry season is March - May (we are still getting good ones), but you can usually find them in the summer (not as good to the locals who are use to really good strawberries, but still better than most other places). Not much in Camarillo - it is where people live and of course you still have farmland.
What are your interest? Ventura is just North of Camarillo - nice beach community, shopping, dining. Santa Barbara is about 40 minutes north. You can also easily drive to Ojai - a little artsy town. There are some nice drives you can take around the area as well as hiking and biking trails. There is also bowling alleys and miniature golf. Ventura County consist more of nice neighborhood than a tourist towns. I can help you more if I know what you are looking for.
Also - in Ventura there is a shopping center with a Nordstrom Rack, Ross, Old Navy and more and a Burlington Coat Factory across the way - you can often find good deals there as well.
Without traffic - it is about an hour drive w/out traffic. I would allow longer as it will be rush hour. Be sure to give yourself time to return your car and if you are flying internationally - you need 2 hours for check in and security.
Also meant to add - about a 30 minute drive is the Reagan Library which has air force one on display. Beautiful views too.
Another thank you for the information.
We do not have any particular interest. We are just visiting USC and looking for some bargains shopping at the factory outlet mall. Theme parks are out for us.
We just want to leisurely take in the sights - rivers, mountains, gardens, enjoy nature. We enjoyed the 17 miles drive.
What is special about Camarillo and it%26#39;s surrounding vicinity?
What about Thousand Oaks?
Yes, we do enjoy buffets - do they anything similar to the Shoneys of the East coast?
Would anyone know about the Candle Light Motel, and the Goodnight Inn in camarillo. The reviews that I have read looks quite attractive.
Thanks

Get off the bus 15 minutes later at 9th Street %26amp; Broadway. Walk one block south to Olympic Bl and turn left. Walk 2 blocks and you are there. Fare is $1.25
