campton place hotel

Thinking of this hotel for a 2 night stay because it looks central and not part of a chain. BUT...some of the reviews are a bit mixed. Is it still OK (was in Conde Nast, don%26#39;t know if still is) and would it be good central base for us (us being 2 adults and 9 year old). We%26#39;ll also be celebrating a birthday so need it to be near good earing/drinking spots and safe to walk around at night.

campton place hotel

The Campton Place has always been a very nice, high end, boutique hotel with a high end restaurant. In the last year or so, it was bought by Korr Hotels. I think they had a lot of regular, long term, return guests and some of the reviews you mention are a result of the change in ownership. Not better or worse, but a change to them.

I don%26#39;t think they get many kids there.

Excellent location!

Thanks Wes. Still wondering what the changes may have been...anyone got any info?

The previous management was there for a long time and I think the guests were just used to the way they did things. With the new ownership came changes, and not everyone likes change. Sometimes, change is good... unless you don%26#39;t like it.

Columbus Motor Inn, best spot in SF! Enjoy!

Thanks Wes and Tracy. Still hoping someone who has stayed at either of these recently will reply!
