Not at a winery but one where the van picks you up and drives you around?
Should we do that, or are we ok to drive ourselves to wineries...any help is most appreciated.

Do you reccomend doing a wine tour?
I have been searching the forum and found some good responses to this question. I think we are going to stick to our own self guided tour.
Do you reccomend doing a wine tour?whirlygal-
Good-- self-guided tours are what 99.9% of our guests do. They%26#39;re far more flexible, and since you can%26#39;t taste wine if you%26#39;re sozzled, they make sense, as well.
For those who clicked on this thread for recommendations, you can hire a sedan (or limo) and driver starting at around $300 for 4 hours (this includes taxes, gratuities, etc.).
There are a few other options, including the Napa Valley Wine Shuttle and Platypus tours. Both are excellent-- our guests have come back from each, raving about what a great day they had. And at $55-75 per person, these two tourns are less expensive than a hired car/driver.
For those reading this thread who can%26#39;t believe someone would actually drive themselves around to taste wine (for fear of driving drunk), use the search function on these forums with the words ';Swirl, sniff, sip, swish, swallow), and you%26#39;ll see how so many visitors do it-- safely.
Whirlygirl, we hope you have a wonderful stay in the wine country!
