A great unknown place to eat in mendocino

We are going there this weekend and staying at the Little River Inn...does anyone know of a romantic dinner place where you are paying for the food, not the view or decor??

We%26#39;ve been there three times. I love the Mousse cafe for the food. Romantic? The Mendocino Hotel was fabulous and the service was excellent. Good eats, no romance? The Mendocino Cafe, although weather permitting has a great little deck. You might want to do this for lunch, we loved it. Really neat place, vegetarian food, the Stanford Inn. We didn%26#39;t get time to eat here (actually my husband had food poisoning) but one of the local winemakers told us that her favorite place was Sharon%26#39;s By the Sea. It looks neat, we just had to skip dinner two nights, lol.

BTW, don%26#39;t mean to bad mouth anyone, but I wasn%26#39;t that crazy with dinner at the MacCallum House. Breakfasts, yes.

Sharon%26#39;s by the Sea....intimate, informal, friendly on the water and off the beaten path.

We had stale bread (so bad that nearly everyone in the restaurant was complaining about it), overly salted food (both of our meals, and normally we like saltier foods than most), and I had crab shell in every other bite of my crab dish (a crab/pasta dish, it was their special). I won%26#39;t be going back. Thats for sure.
