I would love any advice that anyone could offer on which time of year would be less crowded/has better weather. Also, if we were making a five day trip would it be best spent all in San Franciso or split between there and somewhere else, maybe Yosemite? I would also like recommendation for hotels close to all the activities but where it is not noisy 24/7 so as not to effect sleep quality! Appreciate any help given. Thanks!
Summer or Spring break for family vacation with 15 year old
Well even the best/5 star downtown hotels are going to have *some* noise simply because you are in the middle of a city. If you%26#39;re from the suburbs, you just shouldn%26#39;t expect it to be that quiet.
The best weather is (generally) in Spet - mid October... However, it is still pretty crowded wince it is a peak tourist time. November has cheap rates and it really isn%26#39;t too crowded, however, the weather generally isn%26#39;t as good. It just kind of depends on what is important to you.
How much are you looking to spend (per night) on a hotel?
Summer or Spring break for family vacation with 15 year old
We would be willing to spend $100 - $120 a night. I know within the city we won%26#39;t have silence - I just don%26#39;t want in the middle of party central. (We recently stayed downtown in St. Louis where this was the case). Which times would be best to visit if choices were between March or July?
Thanks!
I%26#39;m a big fan of springtime in the Bay Area. While there is a chance that you could get rained on, in the spring the grass is green, the fog is usually gone and the skies clean and bright. The temps are mild, and can range anywhere from the 50%26#39;s to the 70%26#39;s most years. Plus, it%26#39;s much less crowded. And even if it rains, it rarely rains all day and after the weather clears, you get those bright blue skies I was talking about! Almost every postcard picture you see of SF is taken in the winter or spring.
One area that is often overlooked, but central to lots of fun adventures while still being on the quieter side is the Embarcadero. You are right across the street from the Ferry Building and its markets, right on the F line that takes you to Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf, and right next to a BART station that can take you to SFO. There are a few hotels in the area, but one that shows up on Priceline is the Hyatt Regency, which is large enough to offer you all the amenities but also to have some deals to offer. And most of the rooms look out over SF Bay and the Bay Bridge.
