Just curious what is the Busiest traffic time in the am on a friday from san diego to anaheim. wanting to avoid the dead stop traffic if possible.
busy traffic time?
Between San Diego and Anaheim on a Friday, it will be busy most of the day - 7:30 to 9 - commute here in San Diego - but if you wait until late in the morning, then you will probably hit more traffic closer to Anaheim. After noon, then you%26#39;ll hit the weekend ';getaway'; traffic. I guess I%26#39;d head out between 9 and 9:30 and hope for the best. Good luck!
busy traffic time?
Heading north on I-5, I think if you leave around 9:30am you should be fine. There may be a little heavy traffic as you head north through La Jolla, starting around Balboa, but by Del Mar, it would generally be clear to Anaheim. While there may be some slowing around the San Onofre check point and further north, I would not hesitate to make this trip at 9:30am or even earlier if you need to. The real bad traffic on I-5 is north of Anaheim.
I drive the opposite commute every day for work...and it%26#39;s the weirdest thing, but Friday mornings are always the lightest traffic days...I think everyone sleeps in for the travel later in the day. So actually the soon the better when it comes to Friday MORNINGS.
I will have to go from LA to San Diego on a MO or TUE evening and back on a Sunday. How will traffic be like then? Especially on Sunday - I will have to be at the airport early evening.
traffic will be bad especially towards the afternoon on Sundays on the FWY 5 north, because people are coming back from their weekends. If you leave from SD to LA leave early. It usually starts to back up at the Via De La Valle exit all the way to Orange County. It is worse in the summer.
