The shortest way would be to take the 5N to the 405 N to the 101 N. It is about 180 miles - but is fast driving without traffic You can easily make it in 3 hours.

I you take the 5N to the 405 N to 10 West and drive the cost up to Oxnard - it will add about 20-30 minutes to your drive,

You ban also cit across earlier and drive through Laguna beach - beautiful - but a much slower drive.

IF you are going to Camarillo just fro the outlet mall please be aware that inSnadiego county there is an outlet mall at the Mexican border called LasAmericas and another outlet mall in the suburban city of Carlsbad near Legoland.

If you do decide to take the Pacific Coast Highway, CA-1 (as suggested by juxie) from Interstate 10 then you will have a nice drive thru Malibu and then up the coast, right along the ocean. It is a beautiful drive and definitely the most scenic route.

You will not have to drive all the way up to Oxnard however. If memory serves me correctly, you can take the Las Posas Road exit once you pass Point Mugu State Park and it will take you right over to the heart of Camarillo.
