Hi everyone !!!
I%26#39;m planning to visit Yosemite Park in late July with my husband and my 2 kids ( 10 / 12 ). I know the park is very big, so I would like to have some advices from you guys about what I should do. We are planning to stay 2 full days there. What it is more interesting to see ??We like outdoor activities but we don%26#39;t like to hike a very long distance. We love waterfalls. I was thinking about doing the grand tour that the park offers. It%26#39;s 1 full day tour. Do you think it%26#39;s worth ? How about accomodations ? We don%26#39;t want to spend too much. What city outside the park it%26#39;s better to find a Hotel ? Thank you in advance for your time...
Yosemite /late JulyCheck www.lynmarpondranch.con for excellent accommodations at reasonable prices just 30 minutes to Yosemite.
Yosemite /late JulySorry of course that%26#39;s www.lynmarpondranch.com
Thanks so much for the site about accomodations. I%26#39;m sure gonna check it out....
You might check out www. yosemite.com and click on lodging. It lists all the entrances and their distances to the various attractions inside the Park.
If you are family with kids, you might also like to check out www.VRBO.com for vacation cabins and homes. I am partial to Mariposa as there is a great choice of restaurants, but others like Groveland, Oakhurst and Fish Camp. You might also check out Yosemite View Lodge just outside the Arch Rock entrance. It isn%26#39;t fancy, but convenient to the Park.
The tram tour is probably your best bet if you want a tour. The water falls will not be at their peak in July, but still worth a look.
Enjoy your visit!
thank you guys so far for the good advices...I%26#39;ll check out the sites that you send me..
There are condos (privately owned) in the park itself. Google Yosemite West.
Think about staying in Yosemite Valley at the tent cabins at Curry Village. Two full days is nothing if you are spending half your time driving in your car. shuttle bus in the valley can take you anywhere you want. Forget the grand tour, rent bikes and ride around or rent rafts and float down the river (although in late July probably too late). Hike to the top of Vernal Falls a perfect day trip and ten find a nice beach on the river and swim the afternoon away taking in the beauty of the cliffs.
Hi, krFL2007!
It%26#39;s possible to make a reservation for accommodations inside the park 366 days in advance, and many persons do so.
With only two days to spend at Yosemite, I recommend that you definitely try to stay in the park. Curry Village should still have some tent cabins available.
The two-hour Valley Floor Tour will give you a good overview of Yosemite Valley. You can take the free shuttle bus to many of the sites you%26#39;ll see on the tour if you want to spend more time at them.
Have fun!
