accomodation and visit yosemite help

Hi,

I%26#39;d like your help with our visit this summer please.

We%26#39;ll be in Yos on July 4 and staying two nights (2A+2kids). I found out that remaining accomodation to be either Wawona hotel, Curry village (motel rooms - we don%26#39;t feel like sleeping in the cabins) or El Portal motels.

So my question is: as we are coming from Lone Pine. But somehow if we want to see major %26amp; so beautiful parts of the park, which accomodation would you recommend? I do realise that we will have to cross the park to get to these places.

For accomodation, we visited these two pages - is there any other website I should visit?

Many thanks!

You might try www.yosemite.com. It lists most accommodations both inside the park and outside the park. It also notes the mileages from all four entrances to the various attractions inside the park.

In July you will be able to visit Glacier Point, Tuolumme Meadows, Mariposa Giant Sequoia Grove as well as Yosemite Valley. There is a lot to see in July for such a short trip. But you can use this trip as sort of an introduction to all the places you will want to return to when you have more time.

Best of luck!

I think the lodging section of this site is really helpful:

Thanks, I%26#39;ll visit these sites.

I just thought about another question: This Tioga pass, is it a difficult mountain road - all winding and stuff and is it this type of roads we will have inside the park?

Have a nice day!

You will be driving east to west on the pass so you will be on the inside lane. The road is curvy throughout the park but it is very well maintained and wide enough to handle RVs with no problem. They are not treacherous roads but if anyone is prone to car sickness you will have to stop frequently to take in views while the car sick person takes a break.
