Nice and affordable hotels w/free parking - anyone?

I%26#39;m thinking about staying in LA for 4 nights in early Sept. Would like to get some info about nice, cozy and affordable hotels with free parking. Does that exist at all in LA?I%26#39;m looking for a centrally located hotel, so I can walk to those typical tourist places or take the metero or a bus. I would also prefer a hotel that%26#39;s clean, in a safe area and has at least a 3 star rating! The hotel should be near restaurants so we can grab something to eat and there should be free parking! Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you need Magic castle to me. Not free parking, but only a bargain $8 per night

Please rest assured: the contributors to this Forum do not recommend dirty hotels in unsafe areas!

Hollywood is the best location for walking to restaurants and attractions and taking the metro rail and metro bus to other parts of the city. As the prior poster stated, the Magic Castle is an exceelent choice -- it is the #3-rated hotel in all of Los Angeles.

I%26#39;m not sure why you are concerned about access to the metro system as well as parking charges. If you stay in Hollywood, you will not need to have a car except for the days when you are visiting the westside of our city (since the bus connections take about an hour to that area). If you%26#39;re looking to save money, rent a car for just one day. BTW, as a European, you will, most likely, have to pay for supplemental insurance on the car which could double the daily rate. Many of our popular attractions charge for parking: Universal Studios charges $10 or $20 depending on which area you park in; Disneyland charges $11; Getty Center: $8; Staples Center: $15+

The Metro System%26#39;s DAY PASS costs $3 and allows unlimited rides on the metro rail and metro bus system.

Have a great holiday!
