shopping

Hi I will only have one day available to go shopping while staying in Anaheim. Where is the best place to go?

I am looking for good shoes for problem feet, clothes - (not designer, good quality but well priced), kids clothes %26amp; toys. I will not have a car, so will need to use public transport of some kind.

Am I better going to a mall like the Block, or a factory outlet?

shopping

I would go to the corner of Harbor and Orangethorpe, a few miles north of Disneyland.

You can take the local bus, OCTA Route 43 north to Orangethorpe, from any bus stop on Harbor near the resort. It is about a 20 minute trip, ask your hotel front desk for directions to the nearest stop.

There are a lot of stores in the area, a large Target, and many outlet discount stores, including one that specializes in the Disneyland Park leftovers,

I also like the In-n-Out Burger for lunch while in the area.

Also, there is a Food4Less Grocery Store if you want to pick up some snacks and drinks for the hotel room.

shopping

We were at the malls on Orangethorpe darkbeer has referred to in December. We love the Disney outlet store. But I thought there were quite a few junky stores there too.

Our favorite shopping was at the Citadel outlet in Commerce - which I really don%26#39;t think is an option for you without a car - and the Block at Orange. You can take public transit to the Block. You will love the Steve and Barry%26#39;s store for cheap, cheap clothing for everyone. There are quite a few outlet stores at the Block, too. It%26#39;s about a four minute drive east on Chapman from Harbour, and then a couple of blocks south of Chapman on Manchester. Driving in a car it took us less than 10 minutes from the DL main gates, to give you an idea of the distance it is from DL.

There are lots of great eateries there too.

Hi was in Anaheim in Sept last year and found getting to the Block at Orange easy by bus. The drivers were very helpful with information as well. There was a huge surf shop and my daughters%26#39;s favourite was a Guess shop. Many small shops worth looking into and we found some of the popular skate shoes were half the price taht we can buy them in Australia. Getting there and shopping and getting back may take you only half a day as a couple of times we did The Block in the morning and had lunch there and back and did Disneyland in theafternoon.

Have a great trip!

Hi Ya

We were over there in November and went to the Disneyland Warehouse and we were not impressed with it either. We did hire a car and managed to get ourselves to the Citadel Outlet shops, yee ha!!!!

We have 2 teenagers (one of each) and they had a ball there as well. It took us about 30 mins in the car to get there so not sure how much a taxi would cost. We did a tour with Grayline and the driver mentioned they do a tour to the Beverley Centre which was quite an upmarket mall and then onto the Citadel, so not sure how long you would be able to spend there. We spent all day at the Citadel and even went back for a morning spending spree as well. They are on line with all the shops listed and their hours.

I managed to get Levis for US$25 and boys Billabong t shirts for US $10 each and a lot of other bargains. Plenty of shoes!!

Also went to the Block and also spent way too much there. My husband also went mad shopping at Steve and Barry%26#39;s.

Our son who was navigating, found Westfield Main Place which was about a 5 min drive from the Block Of Orange. Huge mall by our standards.

We found the food great, shopping great, service great and the people fantastic.

We are already planning our next trip for 2009.

Hope this helps

Hi, we were also in Anaheim in Sept/Oct and found the block @ Orange to be great. The bus leaves from the disneyland carpark every 45 mins and takes about 10-15mins to get there. There aren%26#39;t really any toys there though. Much to the disappoinment of my 6yr old! Steve %26amp; Barrys is great for t-shirts %26amp; windcheaters. Lots of trendy clothes. Also found Anaheim Plaza to be quite good. That might be better for the toys as they have a walmart. They also have Ross%26#39;s there which is all designer labels at reduced price. You have to take some time there because its not very organise but its worth it. I also found the Disney outlet store to be a waste of time. Lots of junk and not reduced that much. Have a fantastic trip. We had a ball!
