How can we help? They%26#39;re all fine hotels. They will all provide you a fine base from which to go sightseeing via public transit. I hope this reassurance is useful.

Some of the hotels you have listed were recommended on other posts today or yesterday (or the day before, or the day before, or the day before -- so many questions, so many the same...). Your situation is not any different from others who have asked. Believe it or not, we seldom get asked to recommend a hotel that is NOT safe or in a good area. This is a city, however, so all standard caveats about being aware of your surroundings apply when traveling.

The only thing I really have to say is that they are all budget catagory hotels so as long as all you want is a clean room, you%26#39;ll be happy. The Mosser and Startford are closest to Union Square and the downtown area.

The Cow Hollow Motor Inn gets great reviews and is in the Marina which is a lovely neighborhood.

I don%26#39;t really know what to say... Do you want other hotel suggestions? Did you just want to know specifically about those?

Another I will add to your list would be the Chancellor for the location alone. You can%26#39;t get much better of a location, especially if it%26#39;s your first time to the City. Hope this helped a bit.

San Remo is good, but mostly shared baths.

ColumbusMotorInn.com is our favorite place, not far from San Remo.

Another vote for the Chanecellor. Great location -- the cable car is outside the front door of the hotel. Steps to Union Square. Free cookies at the front desk 24/7. Great service!!

i%26#39;m sorry i wasn%26#39;t a little more direct. i would like your recommedations or feedback as to hotels bb to stay and which area you think is better for getting around town. thanks for your posting so far.

All the hotels that you have listed are located off of transit lines that make it easy to get around town. It just depends on where you want to be, and what you want to do. Your personal preferences figure in highly here. There is nothing wrong with any of the hotels or the neighborhoods they are in.

I%26#39;m just at a loss as to how to make recommendations to you. Want Union Square? Stay in Union Square. Want the Marina? Stay in the Marina Inn or Cow Hollow Inn.

You%26#39;ve chosen hotels in three different areas and each are just fine for the criteria you%26#39;ve stated.

BetterthanBings correctly said 芦You%26#39;ve chosen hotels [that] are just fine for the criteria you%26#39;ve stated.禄

To answer your question, though, you will probably be most content staying near Union Square.

The ';Don%26#39;t-miss SIGHTS in San Francisco'; page geocities.com/iconoc/Articles/Sights.html has enough to keep you busy for nine twelve-hour days. It includes links to your best source of advice on WHERE TO EAT here, the UseNet Group ba.food, and the quite-good sfSurvey. It also has a WEATHER CHART with a link to current conditions.

The best on-line MAP of San Francisco is an inter-active PDF created for the San Francisco Municipal Railway: geocities.com/iconoc/Grafix/CityWide.pdf. I recommend 150% or greater magnification. There%26#39;s also a link that will tell you HOW TO GET THERE FROM HERE. Other links on the page, geocities.com/iconoc/Grafix/FlagMaps.html are a map of our CABLE CAR ROUTES and a superb map of GOLDEN GATE PARK.

The frequently-updated SPECIAL EVENTS page has irregularly-scheduled music and dances as well as links to seven calendars of regularly-scheduled dances, a composite of five of them, and one of dance cruises and events around the world: http://geocities.com/dancefest/Specials.html
