Could you suggest a few family-friendly hotels and restaurants ?

We will do some sightseeing (limited by the fact that we have our baby with us).

We are not sure if we will rent a car or not.

If you have transportation for sightseeing, and depending on your budget, Santa Monica is a nice area with a baby. You can enjoy walks along the beach, third street promenade for window shopping and eating.

If you are going to be relying on public transportation, Hollywood is probably your best bet of places to stay.
