Curry Village

WE stayed here 4/29 and 4/30. It%26#39;s right below Glacier Point with views of El Capitan and Half Dome.

My only complaint was the bathrooms are not secure, but they%26#39;re clean. Bring flip flops.

The breakfast buffest was good. We went to Yosemite Lodge for dinner both nights.

The hike to Vernal Falls up the Mist Trail was great. Give yourself 4-5 hours, though 203 is probably enough. It%26#39;s nice to linger at the top of the falls.

Mirror Lake was great.

Bridalveil Falls and Cascade Falls also very nice.

THe drive to Toulomne Sequoia Grove was grea. It%26#39;s a steep hike back up from the Grove, but worth it.

Yosemite is beautiful, one of a kind. Waterfalls are peak now, there%26#39;s not much snow left on the summits, it%26#39;s been too warm.

Curry Village

Thanks for your trip report. Glad you were able to see the waterfalls at their peak.

Folks are often curious about what it%26#39;s like to stay at CV, so any ';reviews'; are helpful. If you haven%26#39;t done so already, consider writing a review in the hotel section here at TA.

Curry Village

I%26#39;ll try to do this CV review. I also should mention, the hike to Lower Yosemitre Falls was great and the view of the falls from the path leading to the Yosemite Lodge specatacular. But there is alot of trail construction in that area and some detours.

T-Mobile does not work in Yosemite Park. I heard Verizon does.

josh,

Can you please expand upon your comment regarding trail construction and detours?

Thanks.

I was walking from Curry Village to the Lower Yosemite Falls trail, across the meadow.

As you go into the forest, where there%26#39;s alot of boulders behind Yosemite employee housing (near a stable, but not the main one), the trail detours and there%26#39;s workers doing trail repair and construction. There%26#39;s asphalt being laid and new bridges placed across the fairly level streams flowing from the falls. Probably the work will be done by summer. There are a lot of maintenance jobs going on upon the roads, etc. as of 10 days ago.

One place I highly recommend is the paved path leading to the falls from Yosemite View Lodge; even though I didn%26#39;t stay there, it was magnificent to see.

I thought that Lower Yosemite Fall Trail was a paved half-mile trail going from the shuttle bus stop to Lower Yosemite Fall and that the trailhead was across the road from Yosemite Lodge at the Falls.

I%26#39;m not sure what trail you%26#39;re referring to, but I guess I%26#39;ll find out when I%26#39;m there later this month.

The names are confusing, but the accommodation in the park is Yosemite Lodge at the Falls. Yosemite View Lodge is in the town of El Portal, near the Arch Rock (west) entrance to the YNP.

You may be able to contact someone and get more precise details about trail work at the Yosemite Website.

I meant the lodge just below the falls.

Have fun!
