Corvette Diner or Hash House ???

Mostly I was wondering which would be the most crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Our plan is to go to the zoo and then eat at one of these places on our way up to Anaheim. I%26#39;m guessing it will be around 3 or 4pm so hopefully between brunch rush and dinner crowds.

I%26#39; ve visited the websites and read reviews and both sound really fun. It will be my husband, myself and our 8 year old. We are looking for a unique experience, not too out of our way, and to avoid a long wait.

Suggestions?

Corvette Diner or Hash House ???

Given that you have your 8 year old daughter with you, I would select Corvette%26#39;s. Hash House is more serious food, Corvettes is more fun food.

Hash House will probably be less like to have a queue in the mid afternoon. Corvette might on a Sunday.

I agree with tootall. I wouldn%26#39;t describe HashHouse as a ';fun'; atmosphere but as a place with good food. I think that if you want to eat somewhere and then drive up to Anaheim you should just eat at the zoo. Corvette%26#39;s Diner can be busy at any time of day, especially on a Sunday when people eat at odd hours. You cannot guarantee no waiting.

I actually think HashHouse is fun - but probably not for an 8-year old. And the helpings are HUGE. I%26#39;d pick Corvettes because it%26#39;s just really memorable and vibrant and happy - and I think you%26#39;ll probably be okay late afternoon. Have a great time!

Maybe call Corvette Diner (619-542-1476) when you are ready to leave the zoo and see how long their wait is. I%26#39;ve found that most restaurants have very little wait at 4pm, so you should be fine. We have 2 squirrely kids, and we%26#39;ve been told that generally any time before 5:30 or so will have no wait. Don%26#39;t hold me to that but it%26#39;s worked for us!

Thanks for all the advice!

I think that is a good plan to call the diner as we are leaving the zoo and go from there. We%26#39;d love to go and just wish we had more time in SD.
