We have a group of 12 coming in Feb 6-13...how are the conditions in South Lake Tahoe? We are planning to ski Kirkwood, Heavenly and also take a trip up to Squaw.
Also, we are staying at the Embassy Suites...any recommendations on restaurants/entertainment? We are all in our late 20%26#39;s/early 30%26#39;s.
Conditions
As of today, there hasn%26#39;t been a huge amount of snowfall up in the Tahoe area in the last week and it looks like next week won%26#39;t be much different. We had a bit of good snow two weeks ago and it has remained cold but just no real snow. A sad fact for many of us. But don%26#39;t be discouraged, by Feb we will likely have a few good snowstorms to give you some of that fantastic powder to ski/board in. You can keep an eye on the current conditions at the resorts on their websites. At least, I know you can on Kirkwood%26#39;s site: www.kirkwood.com/winter0607/conditions.php.
Hope that helps!

Love the Embassy Suites. That%26#39;s the one right next door to Harrahs and across the street from Harveys where you can hang out at Cabo Wabo Cantina. Lots of entertainment at Harrahs lately seems to cater to the baby boomer age or older. They do have the Vex lounge and comedy at the improv though.
You can also check here for individual nights:

Mont Bleu is supposed to cater to a younger crowd but i don%26#39;t see that much entertainment there in Feb.

For food what kind and what budget?
By the way Sierra is pretty close too. West on 50 near Twin Bridges. Might be closer than Kirkwood. Also has a free shuttle:

Thanks for all the great info. For food, we generally go for $75-150 per couple. We love sushi, Mex, classic american...just don%26#39;t want a stuffy atmosphere.
Also, how far is the gondola from the Embassy?
You can walk from the Embassy to t he gondola with hardly a blink. It%26#39;s maybe 1/2 blockish.
For a fun night out try Evans near Camp Richardson. It%26#39;s in an old cottage. They do lots of groups of 4, 6, 8 as well as couples. Not very many though because it%26#39;s small. Food is wonderful and the service is personal but not at all stuffy.
Also the Cantina is great fun!
Behind Marriott Grand is Kalanis which is lovely.
Would you suggest wearing ski boots to the gondola from the Embassy or would it be best to carry them and get a locker on the mountain for shoes?
Oh man walking across a parking lot is often too far in ski boots isn%26#39;t it? I%26#39;d get the locker but you%26#39;ll be better able to determine what your limits are once you arrive.
