Is is crowded mid March?

I was considering flying out with my 8 year old granddaughter during her spring break which is 3-15 to 3-23.

I wondered how crowded the aquairum might be at that time of year.

The last time I was there is was in the summer and the crowds were horrid. I thought at the time that she would really enjoy this place.

Thanks

Mid-March is not crowded. Weekends are always busy here, and there could be lines at the aquarium, but during the week should be OK. You%26#39;ll be competing with other families on spring break, but this is not really a spring break hot spot. I think it%26#39;s always wise to purchase aquarium tickets in advance (on the the aquarium website or through your hotel)--just makes it easier to get in.

Here%26#39;s the aquarium website if that%26#39;s helpful.

They have a new great white shark I saw on the local news last week. And remember when visiting the large tank to the right of the entrance. If the viewing window is crowded upstairs, there%26#39;s another window downstairs off to the left of the tank that most people miss. This should give the kids easy access to see everything.

Have fun!

Mid-March will be a lot less crowded than the summer months. If you could go during the week, that would be your best bet. We were there last Dec. during the week and it was very nice, just a couple of busses of school kids and a few tourists.

I think she will have a great time here! She may enjoy lunch at Schooner%26#39;s Bistro before or after your time at the aquarium, they have great fish and chips here. Ghiradelli in Cannery Row for an ice cream sundae would also be a nice treat for her during her visit. Enjoy and let us know how she likes the aquarium! :)

In case you come back to read this post, they released the Great White. He was growing too fast! But the rest of the stunning and beautiful Aquarium is still there for your viewing pleasure!
