Santa Barbara - end of Feb for boyfriend's birthday

Hello all,

I%26#39;m just starting to sift through the reviews, but thought I%26#39;d come to the experts first. I want to take my boyfriend on treat to Santa Barbara for the weekend to celebrate his birthday. We%26#39;re not really a B%26amp;B couple, but we do like boutique hotels as well as the romantic, luxurious ones. He%26#39;s an architect, so bonus to those recommendations with design aspects he won%26#39;t be able to stop talking about!

Right now I%26#39;m drawn toward the Montecito Inn. Any other suggestions?

Thanks so much in advance!

What%26#39;s your budet? The Four Seasons Biltmore is gorgeous, it is also in Montecito. If you don%26#39;t stay, go for lunch at the restaurant there, it%26#39;s very elegant and romantic. We stayed at the Harbor View Inn. It is not as nice as the Biltmore, but was very comfortable in a great location, right across the street from Stearn%26#39;s Wharf. They have a very nice pool area there and a jacuzzi. Good luck and I hope you find the perfect place for your getaway! :)

Hi syrahgirl... my budget will be around $150 - 250. I%26#39;m hoping it%26#39;s possible to find something nice within that range.

Thank you so much for your suggestion! I%26#39;ll definitely check it out!

You might want to try the Inn of the Spanish Garden which is a couple of years old Spanish Colonial Revival building located in the district of several of SB%26#39;s best historic buildings - the Presidio, Lobero Theater, El Paseo, Casa de la Guerra, the Courthouse, etc as well as restaurants, shopping, cinemas, etc. Another suggestion is the Upham Hotel which is a historic structure dating from the 1800%26#39;s which is close to the wonderful Arlington Theater as well as restaurants, shopping, etc. We%26#39;ve suggested both of these to architect and designer friends and they%26#39;ve liked them.

Hope you have a great time.

Love the Montecito Inn! Always have a great lunch there. It%26#39;s south of Santa Barbara, however.

Check out The Eagle inn, too.

Hi Jenny,

SB can be expensive, but you might want to check out the Inn of the Spanish Gardens (by far the best boutique hotel in SB) or the Upham Hotel. Upham is a historic property, the Inn is more Spanish style that SB is famous for.
