Good restaurant for large group

Going to Mammoth in March with a large group of people. Need to find a restaurant that will accomodate us and one that has good food.

Good restaurant for large group

Try Whiskey Creek. It%26#39;s a good place. I don%26#39;t knwo how big is big and whether you are looking for banquet style dining. It%26#39;s hard to tell.

We had a great meal at Angles and it looks and feels like alocal place. It seems like they had a really large group there when we were there. Long tables of people.

Looks like you have 2 posts. Yogachick answered on your other one and it looks like we offered some of the same recommendations. Make sure you take a look at her recs and give us more info if possible.

Seven of us ate at Hennessey%26#39;s in the Village last Wednesday night. They were very accomodating and even offered separate checks. Great food too. I%26#39;ve heard recent horror (bug)stories about Whiskey Creek. It was our first choice but that changed our minds.

Since this thread is alive, and the other is dead - here%26#39;s my post, in the other one you started:

What%26#39;s your budget? How big a group?

Charthouse is best for large groups - but it%26#39;s expensive, overly expensive. But it%26#39;s good because there%26#39;s lots of choices.

Whiskey Creek is also good for a large group, consistently good food.

Since you don%26#39;t have lots of choices in Mammoth, it really depends on how large a group. Angels is good, inexpensive, but not great with a group larger than 15. Same with Slocums (but Slocums can get pricey).

Shogun is great for groups, but not everyone eats sushi. And, it%26#39;s also pricey.

Pricey meaning $40+/person.

Lower end would be Grumpys or Gomez%26#39;s (not more than 15 people at Gomez%26#39;s - it%26#39;s small). Hennesseys is another option, can accomodate a lot of people and some can get just a burger or an appetizer - others can order big.

Here%26#39;s a list with addresses and phone numbers:

LOL yogachick I was going to mention Grumpys but she/ said good food and I think of Grumpys as diner/pub food. What do you say? Only been there a few times.

ALPENROSE SIERRA GRILL Has an open diing room and might be able to arrange for a larger group. Our dinner there was fantastic. The thing about Mammoth is consitency. Food and service is inconsistant.

Hey, thanks for all of the great suggestions.

Here is more info:

We%26#39;re looking to spend $25 a person w/ tax and gratuity for about 80-88 people. It would be on a Sat. night in March from about 6:30-10 and we might need a somewhat private room, if possible.

Thanks!

80 peple? You%26#39;ll have to reserve an entire restaurant. Just call around to the list I wrote, above, and see who can do it. Might be difficult. Try Mammoth Mountain Inn, also - The Yodler might do it. Whiskey Creek is the first to come to mind, they often book out for ski groups.

go to www.visitmammoth.com and call the dining list.

Wow 80 to 88 people. I have nothin.....
