Club Trinidad, Palm Springs, ?

Club Trinidad, Palm Springs......Does anybody know what this place is like? We can get a good deal for a week there in Dec. But don%26#39;t know WHAT this place is....is it ';A Dump'; as I read on the only review I found on Yahoo? OR is it a nice enough and clean enough place to stay. We are used to staying at the Desert Villas or Shadow Ridge , (Marriott, But we can%26#39;t find the week there that we need. ) We don%26#39;t expect it to be as nice and new as those but will we hate it???

Thanks for any help that you can give us!

Hi,

We saw the website, thanks! Is it at least in a good area? I mean do we have to worry about walking around late at night? I seem to remember this area as O.K. when we drive through it, though I am not sure as I have not STAYED around there. Do you know?

Thanks for your help!

Remember you are not downtown, but about 3 miles from it.

Across the street is a Ralphs, Longs Drugs, 2 Banks and a few small places in the center. There is a great Veggie place called Native Foods and a small bagel/coffee place. You can walk over there.

If you mean walking for exercise, you can go behind the hotel and walk that residential area, and yes, that is a safe area.

The Trinidad is RIGHT on Palm Canyon tho so request a room towards the back.

Hi,

Club Trinidad is actually a older timeshare property. They have just gone through a renovation, but even with the fix-up, it is NOT at all close to a Marriott in quality or any other area of rating! It is however, staffed with very friendly and folksy people (the bar area was a hang out in %26#39;back in the day%26#39; for movie stars). I%26#39;ve seen lots of families with small kids stay there as there are two pools (1 heated) and the prices are cheap. From your post, I don%26#39;t get the impression that it is what you are looking for.

FYI!

Our thanks to you PsP2SFo and to Hulamom for your answers!

We know this won%26#39;t be a Marriott Palm Desert ';NEW'; resort place. We just HAD to get a place for New Years for a family reunion thing during that week and couldn%26#39;t wait to see if our timeshare would come up with one at a Marriott. We just had to make SURE we had a place for 4 to stay. Which meant we had to have a kitchen too. So no hotels. So we have it and at a good price. We like CLEAN places, but they don%26#39;t have to all be a luxury resort. We do love the HISTORY of Palm springs and so the fact that it used to be a ';Hangout'; is nice, we love that sort of thing and read something about the Ratpack haning there at the bar. Nice to find that the area is safe. I Google Earthed it and the residential part behind it looks brand new and upscale??

Thanks for the shopping and dining info. We spend lots of time in Palm springs and Palm Desert but don%26#39;t know THIS particular area. Any other info would really be appreciated!

Happy Halloween All !

P.S. to the last message, I meant The Ratpack HANGING OUT at the bar there....sorry

'; Google Earthed it and the residential part behind it looks brand new and upscale?? ';

Not really new, or upscale. But a safe area, with condos and homes.

Maybe www.timeandplace.com have what you are looking for.

So...fredef...did you stay at Club Trinidad? We are considering it....
